For this post, I
choose to talk about one of my favorite hip hop producers, Seba Jun,
better known as Nujabes. His work during the late 90' and throughout
the whole decade of the 2000 was very popular in the underground
scene of the hip hop movement in USA, collaborating with many rappers
at that time such as Substantial, Pase Rock, Cise Star, japanese
Shing02 and the list goes on. He also is the author of the OST of the
acclaimed anime Samurai Champloo.
Until his departure
due to a car accident in 2010, he never stopped working on his music.
Short after, a posthumous album was released by his friends with the
music that was found in his cell phone.
I found out about
Nujabes around 5 years ago from a friend that told me there was this
low-key japanese producer who made very jazzy and melodic backbeats.
From the very first track it got my complete attention. His sound is
so nostalgic, like if you were looking back to a place that you've
never been but you're going to miss. That's Nujabes.
Heyyy, I rly like it, i’ll keep it for me 😬
