Steve Coleman and Five Elements

I'm going to talk about the one and only concert I've been until now. It was two weeks ago in Teatro Oriente. With my brother and a friend, we went to see one the greatest musicians of jazz nowadays: Steve Coleman and Five Elements. Coleman is an afro-American saxophonist whose work is well recognized since the 90s, but he had never had a concert in south America being this the first time he ever played in the continent. Coleman was part of a movement called M-base, which is, explained by himself, "a way to think about the musical creativity". Adding to that expression: everything you hear in his concerts is rhythm, as he says.

I've heard many clips of his concerts on the internet and it always sounds so profound and dense that I've never finished any of them, but live is a very different experience. Everyone in the room were just grooving and going with the flow of the gift the band were giving us. It was overwhelming finally see them live and I hope i could see them again.
